Alef is the breath before sound, the stillness before creation.
It holds the mystery of everything and nothing, the unity of above and below. 

Two Yuds and a Vav — the upper world, the lower world, and the breath connecting them — add up to 26, the same gematria as Hashem’s Name.

The Zohar says Alef is too sublime to begin the Torah. It’s the silent letter, containing the hidden light of creation, Ohr HaGanuz (the hidden light of creation), waiting to be revealed.

Alef whispers: There is oneness in all things.
It reminds us t
o pause, to listen, and to return to that moment of divine unity.
